OUR STORY

MORE THAN A FOOTBALL CLUB

Over 60 years of building community through grassroots football in Sydney’s south. Founded by families, run by volunteers, loved by all.

Where it all Began

Penshurst West Football Club was established in 1965 by a group of dedicated local families who wanted to give children in the Penshurst and Peakhurst area the opportunity to play organised football. What began as a handful of junior teams has grown into one of the largest and most respected clubs in the St George Football Association.

For over six decades, PWFC has been a cornerstone of the local sporting community. The club is based at Olds Park in Peakhurst, which has been our proud home ground since the early 1970s. Generations of players have worn the maroon and gold, and many of today’s volunteers and coaches are former players who grew up at the club.

Today, PWFC fields teams across all age groups — from Under 6 through to senior men’s and all-age competitions — with over 300 registered players each season. Our mission remains the same: to provide a safe, inclusive, and fun environment where players of all abilities can develop their skills and love of the game.

Facilities and Location

Full-Size Main Field

A full-size pitch for U12 through to senior competitions, with line marking done by dedicated club volunteers each week.

Small-Sided Fields

A dedicated small-sided field for U6 & U7 matches, a mini field for U8 & U9, and a midi field for U10 & U11 matches.

Match Day Canteen

Open every match day — coffee, bacon & egg rolls, snags on bread, soft drinks and sweets. Run entirely by club volunteers.

Player Facilities

Changing rooms and hot showers for players, plus two off-street car parks — so match day is smooth for the whole family.
