Urgent Notice – Rescheduled Grading Day & Final Registration Info

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Dear PWFC Members,

Due to the hot weather forecast for this weekend the PWFC committee have decided to reschedule the Junior Teams Grading Day.

This will now be held NEXT Saturday 18th February 2017.

A confirmation of times will be sent during next week.

However, the scheduled FINAL face to face Registration day will still be going ahead on Saturday 11th February at Olds Park in the Canteen area.

The gear shed will also be open for any gear that needs to be returned and the collection of free shorts and socks for brand new 2017 registrations.

The committee will be there from 9am-12pm.

There will be no registration opportunity on Saturday 18th Grading Day.

As to date there has been no volunteer to assist with the position of gear steward, those returning players needing to purchase new gear for the 2017 season are encouraged to come down Saturday (11th) to purchase what they require as we are unsure when it will be open next.

Regards,

PWFC Committee

Junior Grading Gala Day

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Hi All PWFC Junior Members,

Our Junior grading/gala day will be held this Saturday 11 February 2017 at Olds Park.

This day will also be used as another Registration Day during the hours below.

GRADING/GALA DAY

Grading day will be used by the club to assess players & teams in order for them to be placed in their correct SGFA grading. This grading criteria is set by SGFA and is in place for all Non-Competition & Competition teams. Clubs must grade the children properly at beginning of the season as no re-classifications by SGFA will be allowed after teams have been lodged.

The non-comp teams are divided up into:
* Beginners
* Intermediate
* Advanced
The overall aim of the day is to get your child’s team new or existing in their correct grade.

All players need to wear football boots and shin pads to participate. Your child will not be covered by insurance if they are not paid in full. It is a requirement of PWFC that all children participating in our grading are financial. For those players who have not yet paid EFTPOS facilities will be available on the day. Please also remember to invite your friends & family along to come down if they are interested in playing this season.

RTO’s & Coaches

All players & parents are to be there 15 minutes prior to the start of their age group so that we may have a meeting with the parents to discuss RTO requirements for their child’s team.

Before registering a team, we are required to have a minimum of two RTO’s (this is normally coach & manager). PWFC is run by volunteers and we do not provide coaches & managers to run each team. If these positions cannot be filled, the team will risk not being able to be registered as per SGFA regulations.

We will be taking applications for RTO’s & Coaches on the day and we would appreciate as many parents possible to put their hands up.

All returning RTO’s & coaches must attend grading/gala day if you cannot attend please contact Non-Comp Coordinator (Paulo Soares) ASAP on 0413 767 060.

ATTENDANCE

Attendance by all teams & players is compulsory. We hope to get as much co-operation as possible as this will make it easier to allocate teams & will give all our old & new faces attending a much needed fun opportunity to get a little practice in and kick the ball around. This will also give the committee an opportunity to meet the parents and build a stronger foundation with them and to answer any concerns parents may have.

Please note that non-attendance or not notifying Non-Comp Coordinator (Paulo Soares) of your non-attendance before the event may result in your child or team not allocated a spot.
Lastly, although PWFC do not have access to the canteen as yet, the committee have organised a free drink for every child that participates in the event. A ticket will be given after their session to collect their drink.
We look forward to seeing you all down there on Saturday and should any parents and/or RTO’s have any concerns, if there are any parents that would like assist in volunteering on the day we urge you to please contact our Non-Comp Co-ordinator, Paulo Soares.

2016 Winter Finals Campaign Come to a Close

Over 35 C's - 2016 Grand Finalists

Our Over 35 C’s lift their trophy in victory – congratulations!

Our 2016 Winter Finals campaign came to a close for Penshurst West this past weekend.

Congratulations to our Over 35 C’s, who defeated Forest Rangers this past Sunday to win their Grand Final in Rockdale.

A cracking goal from Andrew Bosco put Penshurst West in the lead in the first half. Solid defence and strong counter attacks sealed the win 1-0.

___

After finishing regular time drawn at 1-1, our AAA1s entered extra time against Forest Rangers with everything to gain last Saturday.

A contentious decision to call a striking Penshurst West header offside allowed Rangers to respond with a goal that would put them through to the Grand Final against Rockdale this coming weekend.

Congratulations to the team on a strong performance and for doing your club proud in the finals.

___

Our 13B1 team went down 3-2 in a close encounter with Connells Point last Saturday morning. Well done to the team on progression so far in the competition – you’re a credit to your club!

Thank you to all the players and coaches that have made the 2016 Season so memorable for Penshurst West.

We look forward to seeing you next season!

AAA’s into the Finals!!!

Congratulation to the AAA 1sts who came from a 0-3 behind and then ended up at full time with a 3-3 draw. This took the game into extra time and they came out with a 5-3 win! All this on top of a late 7pm finish. Well done guys!!!

Good luck next week as you head into the finals!

President’s 2016 Season Report

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Dear PWFC Club Members,

I would like to thank all our junior and senior players for participating in this year’s football competition. I trust that you all had an enjoyable season making new friendships and catching up with old ones. As the season concludes I hope to see you return to our Club next season.

I would also like to take this opportunity to say how proud I am of our Club disciplinary record that we have achieved this season. To have no need for any player to attend a disciplinary hearing throughout the season is an outstanding record for a Club of our size. I thank our wonderful RTO’s, parents and volunteers for making this possible along of course with our players. Particular thanks to those who put so much effort in every week in coaching and caring for other people’s most precious possession, their child.

To all our senior players and very old ones, thank you once again for a relatively calm season and I must say supportive one, where more than ever before, senior male and female teams were out there with encouraging banter from the side line.

Our wonderful canteen workers, Sarah and her hard working mother Melita, thank you both so much. To all the volunteers that manned the BBQ a big thank you for all of your support.

To the committee of 2016, thank you all for your hard and diligent work, from lodging match sheets, to prepping gear, website updates with latest information, grading teams, repairing equipment, TeamApp messages to ensure vital messages got through to all members, to fundraising, accounting etc etc. the list goes on and on. This from a group of dedicated people, one third of who only have a child playing in the Club, is a great acknowledgement of every person’s character and devotion to our Club. Thank you my friends on behalf of all.

Lastly, to our Club secretary who put her hand up half way through last year under difficult circumstances and took the role on this year and absolutely smashed it. Your perseverance and diligence has truly made 2016 a year to reflect on. The effort and rapport you have not only with your fellow committee members but also more importantly within the Club. To you my dearest, thank you for your honesty and support.

Yours sincerely,

Gino Sacilotto
